Dundalk IT’s dream of landing a first ever Trench Cup came to an abrupt end at Queen’s in Belfast this afternoon as they lost out in their semi-final clash to St Patrick’s College on a 3-14 to 1-7 scoreline.
Dublin star Ciaran Kilkenny was the star of the show for the Drumcondra side with a superb display that DkIT simply had no answer to.
Despite the disappointment of the result, Oisin McConville’s side did well to reach the finals weekend of the competition and can now enjoy the remainder of the weekend.
St Pat’s, who had three Louth men in their team, will meet Letterkenny IT in the final tomorrow after they beat a Liverpool Hope team which contained Oliver Plunketts man David McEntaggart on a 1-14 to 1-8 scoreline.
