Sean Gannon’s goal at the end of Dundalk’s 4-1 win over St Patrick’s Athletic on Friday night has gone global after being named in The Guardian’s best goals of the week column.
The 36-pass move, which involved every outfield player before being finished from an acute angle on the right by the full back, is listed amongst strikes from the likes of former Derry City star Niall McGinn, Alessandro Del Piero and Wesley Sneijder.
To date around 17,000 people have viewed Gannon’s strike but that figure is expected to rocket after going global, with people mentioning it as far away as Australia.
