Sinn Féin have hit out at Dundalk Town Council after the local authority instructed them to remove the national flag from the Market Square.
A decree from the council said: “Dundalk Town Council have never permitted the erection of posters, flags etc in the Market Square, Dundalk.”
However, Sinn Féin are said to be furious that the national flag is not allowed to be flown on this, Easter week.
Cllr Edel Corrigan said she was “shocked” at the decision of the council.
The party have now launched an online poll asking people’s opinion on the matter here.
