The People Before Profit Alliance’s Syd Smith has become the latest name to put himself forward for next month’s local elections.
Smith, who also ran in the 2009 elections in Dundalk West, will be competing in the Dundalk-Carlingford constituency.
He is the second confirmed People Before Profit candidate in Louth, alongside Stephanie Valla in Drogheda.
Born in Germany but reared in Connemara and the USA, Syd has lived in Dundalk for more than a decade where he has been heavily involved in the Castle Ross Residents’ Association.
