A reenactment of a viking battle at a previous festival event
The Annagassan Viking Festival, which has been taking place every year since 2008 each August, will not go ahead this year.
Organisers of the popular event said in a statement earlier today that they could not proceed with the festival due to insurance issues.
In a short statement they said: “The festival committee met recently and, with regret, took a unanimous decision not to run a festival in 2014. This is due to an on-going insurance issue.”
As well as music, fine food and entertainment, the event also attracted hundreds last year for the Viking 10k run.
