Dundalk’s Clanbrassil Street has suffered another huge setback with the news that woman’s boutique Madame Kay has closed its doors.
It is understood that staff were informed of the decision on Saturday.
Madame Kay’s Peter Kieran had been one of the most vocal in recent years at trying to attract business to what was once the main shopping street in Dundalk but unfortunately his family’s business has failed to ride out the current storm.
Earlier this month, Edward Boyd of Boyd’s Stores in the Clanbrassil Centre said that trade on the street for the first five months of the year was the worst since the recession kicked in.
