While all too often we hear of businesses closing in Dundalk, there may be one opening in Stapleton Place quite soon.

Talk of the Town understands that O’Callaghan Insurances are set to reopen their offices opposite the McDonald’s drive-thru in an attempt to cash in on the expected resurgence of the area when the Tesco Xtra megastore opens its doors this weekend.

O’Callaghan’s – who also trade as quoteme.ie and quoteline.ie – were based at the iconic building at the bottom of Hill Street Bridge for several years before relocating to their current premises at the Blackthorn Business Park on the Coes Road.

The building has been on the market for a number of years without selling but is currently being refurbished ahead of the expected reopening of O’Callaghan Insurances – run by Leo and his daughter Caeva O’Callaghan.

It is understood that the company’s base at the Blackthorn Business Park will also remain open when the Stapleton Place offices reopen. O’Callaghan’s also have offices in both Navan and Monaghan.
