The future of No 32 Restaurant in Chapel Street is in doubt after its owner was locked out of the building in recent days.

The award-winning restaurant, which has been in operation for 18 years, has closed its doors with owner Susan Heraghty admitting she did not know if it would be reopening any time soon.

In a statement to Talk of the Town this evening, Susan said: “Due to circumstances beyond my control I cannot gain access to my restaurant.

“My landlords have changed the locks and alarm without prior notice

“I have no access to cash, credit card slips, food & wine, all equipment, tables and chairs etc

“After 18 years of business and regarded as one of Dundalk’s top restaurants, this is a very distressing situation.

“I am extremely grateful to my staff, customers and suppliers for their continued support.”

Asked whether this meant the restaurant would be closing for good or not, Susan replied: “Well I can’t get in to open!”
