A waste recovery facility could be on its way to Dundalk Port.
Edwin deRoever, best known in the area for his association with Dundalk Schoolboys’ League, was this morning granted conditional planning permission by Louth County Council for the facility at Lockington’s Yard, off Quay Street.
He has been given the go ahead to change part of an existing storage building there to a waste recovery facility.
The application for the development was originally submitted last January, with further information supplied in August.
Quayside Park Management Ltd, who have a registered address at Park House in Park Street, were the only objectors to the planning application for the facility, which would be located to the rear of a number of residential houses.
A waste recovery facility aims to keep as much waste as possible out of landfills by separating and preparing recyclable materials for marketing to end-user manufacturers.
