This year’s All-Ireland Cic Saor Championship will take place at Oriel Park in Dundalk on Saturday September 14th.
Similar to the Poc Fada, the Cic Saor prize is awarded to the person with the longest kick.
A prize fund of €5,000 is up for grabs on the day, with Armagh and Kerry legends Oisin McConville and Jack O’Shea hosting.
Louth stars Paddy Keenan, Brian White and Derek Maguire are all set to take part along with former Armagh forward Steven McDonnell – who works in Dundalk – Kerry’s Bryan Sheehan, Derry’s Paddy Bradley, Westmeath’s Dessie Dolan, Dublin’s Dean Rock, Armagh’s Jamie Clarke, Meath’s Paddy O’Rourke and his team-mate Joe Sheridan, whose late illegal goal infamously robbed the Wee County of the Leinster title in 2010.
Other players are expected to get involved, with admission on the day costing €6. The event is being sponsored by Corona Light.
