Louth has the highest number of vacant houses on ghost estates, according to new figures from the Department of the Environment.
The latest report on unfinished estates shows that there are 266 around the country with no residents residing there.
Louth accounts for 15% of the vacant properties with Ard Dealgan on Quay Street the largest empty site with 73 completed apartments.
It was built by Tom McFeely, who was also behind the Priory Hall complex in north Dublin, with local councillors making regular calls to deal with it.
In total there were 44 developments inspected in Louth during 2014, with 29 remaining on the unfinished housing database at the end of the year.
Amongst the local developments to have benefitted from the resolution process includes Clois Dealga in Saltown.
