Ireland’s Oyster Clan will follow the Louet-Feisser family from Cooley

A new locally based show launches on TV3 at 8pm tonight.

Ireland’s Oyster Clan is a six-part scripted reality series set on the Cooley Peninsula. Each week, the show will follow Ireland’s very own Duck Dynasty, the colourful Louet-Feisser family, Kian, Charm, Mary, Gary, Darren and their children, friends and employees, as they strive to make their company the most successful Oyster business in Ireland.

The show is a light-hearted comedy – combining business, family, and often pleasure. Matriarch and “glamour amongst the mud” Mary, Kian’s wife, is committed to getting Irish people eating oysters, and as she says with a cheeky smile “they’re an aphrodisiac”.

Jokes aside the business is quite the catch, with oysters being delivered not only across the country, but also worldwide.

The work is hard and outdoors but the play is hard too! When the tide is out the men scramble their pimped up tractors to turn or harvest the oysters. When the tide comes in, it’s time to fight, hunt, drink, socialise or compete in an array of weird and wonderful activities – from tractor racing to oyster baking, ghost busting to stand-up comedy. And there’s always some good craic just around the corner.

The beach (with oyster bags, factory and office) and Kian and Mary’s house (a stone’s throw away) are the central locations, though business takes them to locations and events across the county.

The family is at the heart of each show and you can follow them from 8pm tonight with a preview available on the 3Player here.
