Ruaidhrí Higgins has left Dundalk FC just weeks before the start of the new campaign.
The 30-year-old was part of Stephen Kenny’s side that won the league title last year and signed on for another campaign at Oriel Park before Christmas.
However, the club have announced today that they have mutually agreed to terminate Higgins’ contract to allow him to sign for Coleraine FC in his native Derry.
It is understood that Higgins will pen a two and a half year deal at The Showgrounds with his departure prompted by the fact that Richie Towell will be remaining at Dundalk.
