The organisers of the DUNE half marathon have announced that this year’s route will run from Newry to Dundalk, the same as last year.
It had been hoped to run this year’s event in the opposite direction, from Dundalk to Newry. However, after risk assessing the route, the organisers decided to change that plan, stating that it was “beyond their control.” Instead of starting in the Market Square, the race will now end there.
This year’s race takes place on Sunday March 15th at 12 noon outside the Quays Shopping Centre along the Albert Basin.
Buses will be available in both Dundalk and Newry to transfer runners and baggage to and from the start and finish lines at a small charge of £3.
A baggage drop off and pick up area will also be available.
The first registration evening will be held in Grounded in Newry next Tuesday from 7pm to 8.30pm
