Glenmuir FC’s partnership with Glasgow Celtic went to the next level recently when 18 members headed over to Scotland for a four day team tour experience on Wednesday 8th April.

On the day the team arrived, they went to the 10,000 seater Brookwood Stadium, where the Hoey’s Lane outfit played Cumbernauld Colts and won 1-0 thanks to a goal by JJ Nwebuze.

That evening they set off for the first team match in Celtic Park, where Celtic beat Partick Thistle 2-0.

On Thursday and Friday the squad trained in Barrowfield with academy coaches and had their lunch in Celtic Park. They also got to see the Celtic Academy U-15s train at Barrowfield with their coaches and to view an U-17 league match, which Celtic won 7-1.

On the Thursday evening Glenmuir went to the Odeon to play a game of bowling and on Friday they went to Sauchiehall Street where the lads went shopping!

On the final day, the team headed for the Emirates Arena, straight across from Celtic Park, to have another training session and mini blitz and once finished there they went to Celtic Park for the stadium tour and visit to the Superstore.

A brilliant experience was had by all that attended and this will be the first of many team tours over to Celtic. The players picked up loads of new drills and skills and Glenmuir coaches Ciaran Caldwell, Gary Rogers and Keith Newell got the opportunity to shadow coach with the Celtic coaches, picking up on new ideas and drills to use back home.
