There was good news for one local family today after a Dundalk man missing in Nepal was located.
Ciaran Sands, a 55-year-old who now resides in Dublin, was one of a number of Irish people unaccounted for following the 7.9 magnitude earthquake that left thousands dead on Saturday.
However, his Dundalk-based sister Clodagh confirmed he was safe and well this morning.
“Good news. Ciaran got a message out, he is alive and well,” she said.
Ciaran had been trekking in the Annapurna region at the time of the earthquake, which has devastated the country.
