A local councillor has appealed to motorists not to park in disabled parking bays unless they have the relevant permit to do so.
Cllr Maeve Yore took part in three walkabouts of Dundalk and Drogheda recently with a parent of a wheelchair user and John Morgan, who has been campaigning for some time to make the streets of the county more wheelchair friendly.
She said she came across four people with no apparent physical disability parked in disabled parking spots and told LMFM this was “not acceptable”.
The regulations state that permits should only be used by those with a permanent disability, medical condition or by someone who has severe mobility difficulties.
