Local developer Danny Culligan is keeping his options open as to the possibility of building 40 new apartments on the Ardee Road.
His company Danny Culligan Construction Ltd have applied to Dundalk Town Council for an extension of the planning permission previously granted in 2008 for 40 new residential units at Brookville in three separate buildings. Despite being given the go ahead for the apartments six years ago, they were never built largely because of the collapse in the housing market.
The proposed development includes plans for two three storey blocks. Type A would include 24 two bed apartments with private balconies, with the ground floor apartments having their own access.
There would also be one four storey block (Type B) comprising 16 two bed apartments with private balconies. Again, the ground floor apartments would have their own access.
The council are due to making a ruling on his application on February 27th next.
