Dundalk’s business community has suffered another blow with well-known ladies boutique, Pulse Pacemaker, set to close its doors.

Talk of the Town understands that staff were informed of the closure last night.

Founded in 1975 by Kate English, Pulse Pacemaker originally started out in the Dundalk Shopping Centre, before expanding into the Long Walk Shopping Centre in the 1990s.

The two stores were then combined into one emporium of fashion at 82 Park Street, beside the old Dunnes Stores. In recent years, Kate’s daughter Suzi has joined the business, which was renowned in the area for selling some of the top brands around including Save The Queen, Legatte, Oky Coky, Fee G, Mariella Rosati, Bandolera, Gerry Weber, Taifun, Olsen, Messcalino, Heymann, Redoot Shoes and many more.

The closure of Pulse Pacemaker follows hot on the heels of Penneys’ decision to close its store in the Long Walk Shopping Centre from next month.
