Carlingford’s Ghan House is the only Co Louth venue included in One Fab Day’s 100 Best Wedding Venues 2014 guide.
The second edition of the guide was launched last week, featuring their list of some of the top venues in the country based on months of extensive research.
The unique and independent guide, which also features a wide range of wedding tips said that Ghan House’s “cost rooms, warm hospitality and fabulous food make a celebration there magic.”
In the ‘We Loved’ section, it also praised the venue’s civil ceremony setting.
“A special touch for a civil ceremony – having it in the heritage centre next door, a quant deconsecrated church.”
Apart from Ghan House, the nearest other wedding venue listed was Castle Leslie in Monaghan and Farnham Estate in Cavan.
Run by Paul Carroll, the award-winning Ghan House is an 18th century Georgian house built in 1727 by William Stannus, a politican from Dublin who was of Scottish descent.
