Irish rugby star Rob Kearney has been offered €10,000 for the charity of his choice in order to referee a fight between One Direction’s Niall Horan and Welsh scrum-half Mike Phillips.
The fee has been put up by bookmakers Paddy Power, who have offered up thousands of euro for charity if Horan and Phillips agree to a fight.
The bookmaker has offered to put up €70,000 in total if the pair agree to get into the boxing ring, with €50,000 for the winner, €10,000 for the loser and €10,000 for referee Kearney.
All of the money would go to the trio’s choice of charities but it is unlikely they will agree to it with none of them having responded to Paddy Power’s request for the scrap almost 24 hours ago.
Horan and Phillips came to blow on Twitter earlier this week after the One Direction singer criticised the Lions star’s behaviour following Paddy Jackson’s late try in Ireland’s 26-3 win over the Welsh in the Aviva Stadium on Saturday.
Phillips responded by asking Horan to come to the Welsh training camp and say it to his face but Kearney then got involved by saying he had the Westmeath native’s back.
