Two songs from local band I’d Fight Gandhi are set to appear in a new Irish film, which premieres in The Savoy in Dublin on Saturday as part of the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival.
‘Gold’ is directed by Niall Heery and features the likes of James Nesbitt (The Hobbit, TV’s Cold Feet), David Wilmot (Intermission, King Arthur) and Maisie Williams (TV’s Game of Thrones).
I’d Fight Gandhi are made up of vocalist/guitarist Sean McMahon, lead guitarist Ken Carroll, bassist Ian Hunt Duffy, drummer Alan Duffy and vocalist/guitarist Aidan Hunt Duffy.
In the film, wandering loner Ray (Wilmot) tries to track down his estranged ex-partner and teenage daughter so his dying father can see her one last time. Comedy ensues when, disguised in an outfit he sought from a charity clothing bank, he realises his daughter, and her mother, have built a new life with his former PE teacher.
