A new housing development has been given the go ahead for the Maxwell Terrace area of the Newry Road.
Chevron (Ireland) Atlantic Limited have been granted planning permission by Dundalk Town Council to demolish the five homes at Maxwell Terrace and Coogan’s Shop, which they paid almost €840,000 for back in 2011.
They plan to replace them with four residential houses.
The homes have been lying idle for some time but were painted pink in recent weeks to coincide with the Giro d’Italia passing this weekend.
