Dundalk is in mourning this afternoon following the sudden passing of local teenager Conor Byrne.
The popular Marian Park man was airlifted to hospital in Dublin earlier today after falling ill but could not be saved. A post mortem is expected to be carried out on his body to determine the exact cause of death.
A former De La Salle student, Conor had been studying mechanical engineering in Dundalk IT.
Sinn Féin councillor Tomás Sharkey has called for the National Ambulance Service to review response times in the area following the tragic passing.
Funeral details will be confirmed later.
