The blaze happened just outside Tallanstown village
A house just outside Tallanstown village was destroyed by fire last night.
The owner of the property returned home around 9pm to discover the blaze.
He quickly alerted the relevant authorities with units from Dundalk and Ardee Fire Services battling the blaze for several hours.
The Tallanstown to Ardee Road was closed for a time as a result of the fire.
The scene has been preserved this morning for technical examination.
