John Mountney struck late on to earn Dundalk a narrow 1-0 victory over Derry City at Oriel Park last night.
Stephen Kenny’s side looked like dropping points for the first time at home this season until the Mayo man’s goal four minutes from the end.
His shot from the edge of the area took a wicked deflection off a Derry defender to creep past goalkeeper Shaun Patton.
Prior to that chances had been few and far between at either end although Derry did go close to grabbing an equaliser late on when Paddy Barrett cleared off the line.
