It will be the end of an era at St Mary’s College next week when the handball alleys at the school’s entrance on St Mary’s Road are demolished.
The handball alleys have been an iconic symbol of the school for many years, with countless students having played there over the years.
However, they are being sacrificed as part of the plans to construct a new school building on the school’s playing fields.
Work is well underway on the school buildings, which is due to be completed in April 2016.
